Synopsis

Two young people are in love; the girl's landlady, however, is trying to bring her together with an old bachelor. With the help of a gamekeeper the young couple set all kinds of traps for the amorous bachelor and, in the end, he has to content himself with the landlady's hand in marriage.

Note

For many years the film was thought to have been made by director Jan Kříženecký. Film historian Zdeněk Štábla discovered, however, that it was, in fact, made by a Moravian photographer Josef Křičenský. According to a his study „O jednom historickém omylu“ ["On One Historical Error"] (Filmový sborník historický č. 3, Český filmový ústav, 1992/Historical Film Collection no. 3, Czech Film Institute, 1992), the year of production is uncertain. Shortly before, Štábla's knowledge was written by the writer Adolf Branald in the novel My od filmu [We From Film World] (Mladá fronta, 1988). Film is often presented as The Bachelor´s Dream or The Spring Dream of a Prague Bachelor. The film materials are believed lost.
