Summary

The comedy Únos brankáře Fuxe was made by director Karel Anton in 1923 who added this film to his Anton Comedies serie. The banker's daughter, Daisy Fux, decides to marry her father off to her girlfriend. For this plan she used a newspaper advertisement. On this occasion, she meets handsome Tom Darey, who is in debt. However, things gradually become more complicated, and a cycle of confusion, chases, disguises, and total madness, including an accidental kidnapping of banker Fux, police pursuit and internment in an asylum. Eventually, everything comes to climax and happy ending. The film benefits from the success and conventions of American slapstick. In the film are represented typical characters such as mischievous heroine, sympathetic male hero, infatuated detective Sherlock Holmes II, loyal servant Karel, uptight governess, comic aristocrat, clueless police chief with rest of the officers dressed as Keystone corps. The lead couple was represented by the world-famous couple at that time, Anny Ondráková and Karel Lamač. Also in other roles starred some other popular actors and comedians of the time, such as Eman Fiala, Theodor Pištěk, Saša Rašilov and Josef Šváb-Malostranský. Already in 1954, director Jan S. Kolár reconstructed the film according to the original cut and added missing intertitles.
