When the rabbi Löw refuses to bring the golem back to life, the Emperor Rudolph II invites rabbi Neftali Ben Chaim from Krakow to Prague. For a hefty reward, the Krakow rabbi pledges to create a new golem. The wise rabbi Löw is intent on preventing this, and a way to do so is revealed to him by the lust he detects in Neftali's eyes. Under the light of a pine torch, Neftali fashions the clay sculpture. He is interrupted by the arrival of a beautiful mute girl who brings him food and indeed arouses the man's interest. With the aid of two evil demons that take on his appearance, Neftali summons the elements to the golem. Then he writes the magical inscription on the figure's forehead and the golem comes to life. The girl has returned and rabbi Löw, who observes the situation with his inner vision, suggests to Neftali that the girl wants the golem to bow. While the young rabbi caresses and kisses the girl, she wipes the inscription off the golem's forehead and the golem instantly disintegrates. The girl returns to rabbi Löw. Her creator draws aside her hair and wipes off an inscription. A disintegrating clay figure is all that remains of the beautiful woman.
