In the 14th century lived in Florence the nobleman Messer Francesco Vergellesi. He was elected to a prestigious function in Milan. His beautiful and virtuous wife Sandra resisted courting of all men of that time and the conceited Francesco was too sure of her fidelity. He bought for himself new clothes and jewellery for a lot of money and as he was greedy he did not buy anything for his wife. On the contrary he decided to enlarge his property with the most beautiful horse in Florence - a white Arabian, which was offered to him by the young nobleman Ricciardo for a 15 minute talk with Sandra. The comparison of the greedy oldish husband willing to risk for a horse the honour of his wife with an attractive young man in love willing to offer anything for love ended up in a logic way. Francesco left to Milan and Ricciardo became a secret regular guest of Sandra.
