Synopsis

A young worker Bogan digs out an old silver coin at a construction site. He wants to have it set in gold and give it to a beautiful Dagmar. He is afraid he spends his pay and that is why he entrusts the money to a young clerk in a saving bank. When meeting Dagmar, though, he spends most of the money in one night. Bogan is dismissed for frequent late coming. When he takes away his things he throws the coin back on the floor. Here the coin is found by an archaeology student and her teacher reveals it is a precious Cheb pfennig. At the porter's Bogan is given a deposit pass book which has been arranged by the girl from the saving bank. A frown foreman finally takes him back. A test tube ride of the route C is watched by all those who contributed to it.
