Synopsis

After their father's death, two brothers go their separate ways in life - one stays on the family farm, the other moves to the city. The young farmer is successful, but his brother soon finds himself bankrupt. After drinking heavily he takes himself off to the farm and carelessly sets fire to it and is burnt to death. The agricultural bank ("Kampelička") lends the ruined farmer money for new farmstead and he goes off to Prague to take part in a cooperative property course. A few years later he becomes the chairman of the agricultural bank "Kampelička". People start coming to put there their savings... The film is concluded with the deserving member Alexandr Cejnar from Česká Třebová is given a diploma and with photographs of the "Kampelička" in various villages.
