The British director’s first feature-length film. A comedy about a gangster’s dog, dumplings, shoes, a fidgety sculpture and suicide. Pavel Zeman suffers his whole life. He has an ungrateful wife and many jobs so that his wife can live the high life. Colin Frampton is an Englishman caught in a world full of worries. He can’t even free himself of them on his honeymoon in Prague. When his wife dies in an unfortunate accident, he wants to follow her to his final resting place. But he lacks the courage to commit suicide, and thus asks Pavel to neatly and quickly dispatch him from this world for a financial reward. Instead, an unusual friendship emerges from their meeting.
