A young American soldier returns home for Christmas. Instead of his parents, there is a young woman in the flat, whom he does not know. She tries to brush him off, but despite her protests, the soldier enters. The room is almost empty; the young man goes and opens a secret cache under the window, where he has once hidden his childhood treasures. Now, the girl understands that the soldier really used to live there, but she knows nothing of his family. The flat has been allotted to her and it was empty. She tells the soldier that war is not just waged where bullets are fired. The man hears something stir in the next room. He opens the door and enters that dark room. Immediately after that, he is beaten up. - Later, the woman and the soldier sit in an interview room. A stern-looking man wants them to sign a document which reads: "...not to disturb order and peace, they will be preventively interned in accordance with Section 117 b-6 R. of Shelton's Great Educational Programme."
