A woman wearing hair rollers shuffles around a messy flat listening Radovan Lukavský on the radio who is reading the story by Božena Němcová "The Good Person". In the following broadcast the host advises women to try to maintain their loving relationships with their husbands. She advises them to be kind since their spouses are tired from work, and to always look their best. The woman decides to take action. She does her hair and puts on make-up. Then she tidies up the flat and puts perfume on herself and the marital bed. Her husband returns home for dinner after which he intends going out to a meeting. His wife flutters around him and speaks to him in sweet tones. The man is irritated by this unusual behaviour and finally pushes his plate away and gets ready to go out. When the woman tries to stop him, the husband pushes her away coarsely and tells her he has a lover. He slams the door behind him as he leaves.
