In a Wide Fild, Jumping Up a TreeSynopsis
The voice of an investigator asks the prisoner Klára why she ran away from the prison. – It is a summer day and the girl Klára, dressed in a linen working overall, is running through a forest. Reaching water, she undresses and passionately enjoys bathing. She then dresses and goes hitchhiking on a road. The driver who pulls up asks where she works. He is envious – working in a forest tree nursery is in the open and fresh air. Klára gets scared of a police car standing by the road, but it is just a traffic control which does not stop them. – The investigator asks again why Klára ran away, because there were only two months remaining of her sentence. – Klára finds her friend Mirek on a construction site who tells her that Luboš, with whom she once planned to leave for abroad and who eventually emigrated alone, returned some time ago. He and Klára were a couple but when they meet again, the love between them has been replaced by awkwardness. – The girl is back in prison, her hair is cut and her face photographed from front and profile. She receives additional punishment for abandoning her workplace in the forest and this time, she will serve it exclusively behind the prison’s walls.
