Synopsis

It is Christmas Eve. The Prague shops are already closing, the shop windows are beautifully lit against the dark. A little boy has got lost and is walking through the streets in wonder. He talks to the passers-by, accompanies a girl carrying beer to her house and plays for a while in the deserted Christmas market. When he hears a Christmas carol, he starts feeling sad. A policeman saves him and takes him to the police station, where he is on duty with his colleague. The two men also feel lonely and are glad to be distracted by playing with the boy. They manage to get his address from him and they take him home. At the end, they are sad to have to say goodbye.
