A guest arrives at a hotel. He registers at reception and sharply refuses the services of the hotel porter who offers to take his luggage up to his room. The receptionist becomes suspicious and therefore sends the hotel detective after him. The detective - together with the chambermaid and the porter - look in through the keyhole and sees the man changing the bedclothes. He forces his way into the room and ties the man up to keep him out of harm's way. The detective then leaves the room and takes another look through the keyhole. Now he sees that the man has freed himself and is now relaxing in the freshly made bed. The gramophone is playing a gentle melody and the hotel employees are left dumbfounded in the doorway. At the end of the film a voice is heard from the gramophone record which provides him with an explanation: Only Miltex can ensure you a perfect sleep.
