Synopsis

The Dobrík family is preparing for the Christmas holidays. While the children, Ivan and Věrka, are buying the presents, the parents are decorating the Christmas tree. They are interrupted by their neighbour who comes to hide his presents in their house. Věrka and Ivan are window shopping for sweets and toys. Finally they decide that a wicker basket for clothes will be the most beautiful gift. Věrka doesn't have enough money but Ivan breaks open his piggy bank and it provides them with the necessary funds. The evening approaches, the tree is glowing with candle-light and sparklers. They are all happy with their presents but the greatest joy is the love and peace within their family.
