One evening a young woman is paid a secret visit to her lodgings by her husband. Slávka reminds him that her widowed landlord Mr Bouda has strictly forbidden visitors. Despite this, Slávka's husband stays until morning. When the husband has gone Mr Bouda is angry at Slávka and decides to throw her out. When, in his anger, he inadvertently yanks at the curtain, a glass vase falls on his head. The old man lies in bed with his head in bandages and asks Slávka to call a doctor. Slávka is glad to oblige. The doctor turns out to be her husband.
