A student has fallen in love with a young woman whom he sees at the window of the house opposite. He rings her up and recites poetry to her. The woman, who is curious to know more about the besotted man, invites him to visit her one evening. The boy abandons his studies and goes over to her house bearing flowers. When the woman opens the door, however, the boy loses his courage and all he can do is use the weak excuse that he is standing in for his friend. Then he runs away.
