The film presents the case of the so-called Orlická Dam murders in the early 1990s considered the biggest criminal case of the post-communist era in the Czech Republic. The group of perpetrators murdered five individuals between the years of 1991–1993. The Police retrieved three bodies from Orlická Dam, two were sealed in barrels containing lye. The main protagonist of the film is the former member of an elite police unit who works as a bodyguard for the gangster Chvalkovský and has a hand in arms dealing. This crude man, acknowledging only the power and pleasures of life, proceeds with his pals – a brutal murdered and simple-minded friend – to do away with inconvenient people. The murderers were sentenced in 1997 after an investigation of crimininologists shed light on the case. – A two part television version was also made.
