A little girl is standing outside a toyshop with her mother. Most of all she likes an elephant but her mother does not buy it for her. Then the child falls ill and the doctor recommends her wishes be granted. At night the girl dreams of toys. In a drawn sequence she sees animals and a doll dancing in the countryside. They fall into a ravine but catch hold of a branch and the elephant saves them with its long trunk. When she wakes up, the girl is given an inflatable elephant and immediately gets better.
