Synopsis

The story of a girl from a narrow-minded, provincial family, who is lured by the leading man of a travelling theatre company. The girl deserts her family and travels from town to town with the actors. Her departure causes the family considerable social disgrace. After some time the girl's mother dies of grief and the girl, deserted by her lover, returns penitent to her mother's grave.
