Eighteen-year-old Michal Horák wins an international tournament in table tennis and is nominated to the national team for the World Championship. Michal trains hard and has little time left for school. His final A-levels exams are approaching and Michal wants to study biology, but he finds it hard to balance his training with his school obligations. He has problems in mathematics, and the teacher warns him he may fail in the subject. Michal accidentally meets a former football player, who gives the boy a warning. Once he also put sport before his education and now that he is no longer healthy and young, he has nothing left. Michal's demanding father likewise insists that his son have to study. Nevertheless, the coaches are making equally high demands on the young man. Michal must choose between sport and school and decide on his future.
